Privacy notice for business contacts

Version 2026-10-13

Who this is for

This notice is for people we work with, or may work with, in running and growing Burnbase: camp leads, organisers, partners and community members. It covers our own outreach, not the app. If you use Burnbase, the privacy notice covers what the app does with your data.

Burnbase is provided by Captain Jack's App Factory in the Netherlands, KvK number 42136234. In this notice "we" means that provider. Our details are on the About page.

Contact records

We keep a simple record of each contact: name, organisation or camp, role, public profile links and our notes. It comes from you, or from what you or your organisation published yourselves, such as event directories and public profiles. We use it to get in touch about Burnbase and to keep track of our conversations. Our basis is our legitimate interest in running and growing Burnbase. You can object at any time, and we then stop and delete the record. We keep a record until it is no longer useful or you object. You are only added to the mailing list if you sign up yourself.

Social media

If you comment on, mention or message Burnbase's social media accounts, we see what you send and may reply. The platform handles your data under its own privacy policy (Meta, X, Telegram). For the Facebook Page, Meta and we are jointly responsible for the Page statistics Meta provides.

Who helps us

We use trusted providers for a contact database, email, calendar and scheduling, social media management, and AI tools from Anthropic that help us draft and organise our work. They process data only on our instructions. Some are based outside the EU. Those transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise on the EU's standard contractual clauses. We never sell your data, and no decision about you is made automatically: we review everything before it is sent.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, restrict it or object to how we use it. Ask through the contact page. We answer within one month. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
