Your demo data stays in your browser

Burnbase is currently a UI-only preview with no backend. Everything you do in the demo — your persona, camps, roster, shifts, meals, packing lists, lifts, shared costs and any receipt photos you add — is stored only in your own browser (local storage) and is never sent to a server, stored remotely, or shared. Use the “Reset demo” control at any time to clear it.

When you message me or sign up

Three places ask for something: the contact form, the feedback form, and the email signup on the landing pages. All three are optional — the demo works without giving anything, and nothing you do inside it is ever sent anywhere.

The contact and feedback forms pass what you type (your name and email where you give them, your message, and the event details you fill in) to Web3Forms, which delivers it to Captain Jack's inbox as an email. Burnbase stores none of it — there is no database behind these pages. It is kept as long as the email is, and I use it only to reply and, where you asked, to help you get set up. Email on the feedback form is optional; leave it out and I simply can't write back.

The email signup passes your email address to Resend, which hosts the mailing list. It is used only for occasional updates about Burnbase, on the basis of your consent — you can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email, or by asking me, and the address is then deleted from the list.

You can ask me at any time for a copy of what I hold about you, or to delete it. The contact page has every way to reach me.

Analytics (PostHog)

With your consent, we use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to measure usage — page views, interactions such as clicks and navigation (with anything you type masked), and product events like “a camp was created” or “a shift was claimed”. Product events carry only kinds, counts and choices (for example which starting template was picked) — never names, text you wrote, or amounts. We do not record your screen or sessions. The demo is seeded from mock data and is not meant for real personal details. PostHog runs as its own dedicated project for Burnbase. Without your consent, nothing is captured and no analytics cookies are stored.

PostHog, Web3Forms and Resend are the only third parties that process any data for this site, and the last two only ever see what you deliberately typed into a form.

Cookies and consent

On your first visit a banner lets you accept all cookies or keep only the necessary ones. Analytics cookies are set only after you consent; if you decline or later withdraw consent, those cookies are removed where technically possible. You can change your choice at any time:
